If It's For Free Then It's For Me

What's that you say? Free beer? No way. You're kidding, right?

Nope, it's true.

Total Wine
- the Disney World of Wine and Spirits - will be sampling at least a dozen different beers as a preview of the upcoming 2009 Best Damn Brew Review. The event takes place today from five to seven.

If you can't make it tonight, don't fret. This Friday, from seven until midnight, you can sample up to 200 different beers - though I wouldn't recommend downing that many unless you want to end up in the hospital - for a mere $20 dollars. Food and live music are included in the price of admission. Click on the image for complete details.

UPDATED: as a clarification, the first event at Total Wine is free. The second event does have an entrance fee. However, the image also lists dates of other free Total Wine beer samplings along with the main $20 dollar event.

  1. Tickets are $20. How is that "free?"

  2. The first event I mentioned is free. Obviously, the event for 20 dollars is not free - sorry about the confusion.

  3. What a fun event...and a great value too! For just $20 you can taste over 200 beers and food from some great restaurants like Lime Fresh Mexican Grill (love that place, if you haven't tried it, you gotta make a point). The music was cool, I really liked the band and the vibe was perfect on a really nice night. Everyone was very friendly and it was a great looking crowd of people in the 20's and 30's out to have a good time without breaking the bank.

I bought my tickets in advance at Total Wine & More in Pembroke Pines and the manager, Jerry, was really informative about the event and the beers that would be there. If you've never been to Total Wine you really are missing out--what a beer selection!

I'll definitely make this event an annual and will get a group together next year. If you buy tickets at Total Wine you save five bucks a ticket and that really is major, especially these days.

93ROCK did a great job of letting us know what to expect and the two Brew Review "Previews" I went to at Total Wine were awesome. People from Sam Adams and Key West Brewery were on hand and really explained about the different beers and let us taste 'em--free!

    99.5 out of 100!
